Motorcyclists Injured In Two Bike Collision

[Updated] Emergency services responded to a collision this afternoon [April 16] on North Shore Road in Pembroke where it appears two motorcycles were involved.

Bermuda Fire and Rescue service personnel tended to two people that were injured before they were transported to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Further details are limited at this time, however we will update as able.

Update 6.09pm: A police spokesperson said, “Please be advised, there has been a two vehicle Road Traffic Collision that took place on North Shore Road and Overview Hill between two motorcyclists.

“Details are still emerging but it appears that two motorcycles collided, resulting with the male and female riders being taken to the hospital and at this juncture their condition is unknown.

“The area has been cordoned off whilst the scene is being processed by the relevant police officers.”

Update 9.34pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 7:40pm traffic diversions were no longer in effect along North Shore Road, Pembroke between Langton Hill and Berkeley Road.

“At last check both riders remained at the hospital for medical assessment and treatment.

“Inquiries continue. Any witnesses are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”

Update April 17, 12.22pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 5:20pm Monday, April 16th police and first responders attended a reported two motorcycle collision on North Shore Road in Pembroke, near the junction with Stepney Lane.

“It appears that the two motorcyclists involved were traveling in opposite directions when the collision occurred.

“Both riders, a 19-year-old Pembroke man and a 52-year-old Pembroke woman, were injured, transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later discharged.

“Traffic was diverted away from the area for approximately two hours while the scene was processed. Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to contact Constable Nathan Lawrence on the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
